Based on Alcohol Content (ABV), How many Twisted Teas will get you drunk?
You're sitting poolside when you start to realize, someone's kid is yapping and it's really preventing you from turning pages on that new book you've been reading. This is when you reach for your first Twisted Tea. Or is it your second?! Maybe your third ...

Twisted Teas have the ability to slip away from you, much like those old Seagram's Wine Coolers of old. It's an alcoholic drink that never feels like an alcoholic drink. It feels more like a revved up version of that Lipton powder your mom made you and your cousins growing up. Hence, Hard Iced Tea.
We have to say that Twisted tea is an ingenious product from the Twisted Tea Brewing Company. However, it's not as ingenious as, and you guessed it, Twisted Tea Light. If you recall, these cold summer pops, which a few of our friends enjoy year-round, came out long before the current Hard Seltzer craze. 21+ pool sippers have been singing the praises of hard iced tea since the first time they tried it twenty years ago.
Anyway, as for how many Twisted Teas will get you drunk, that's a hard question to answer. Everyone's body reacts differently to alcohol entering the bloodstream. Always know your limits before opening your first alcohol-based beverage, whether that's beer, cider, wine, mead, or in the case of Twisted Tea, malt liquor. Drinking a standard glass of wine or having a can of a insert popular brand of beer is roughly akin to having a Twisted Tea.
If you're a seasoned drinker/you drink alcohol a lot, you probably know how many glasses of wine or cans of beer it takes to get you drunk. By that rationale, Twisted Tea is no different. If it takes you 10 PBRs (Pabst Blue Ribbon) to get drunk, it will take you roughly 9-10 Twisted Teas to get drunk, pending all other factors are approximately the same (food consumption, sleep deprivation levels, etc.). The brewed tea or lemon flavor isn't going to change that one bit. In short, you don't need to ask the question, "Will alcohol get you drunk?" - We know the answer and that is yes, depending on the amount of alcohol you are consuming.
About Twisted Tea & the Twisted Tea Company
Twisted Tea, with it's "True Iced Tea Taste", first hit the market in 2001. The Cincinnati, Ohio-based Twisted Tea Brewing Company was founded on the, "twisted premise that a hard iced tea should taste like real iced tea". A drinker of this summertime malt liquor should feel no different drinking this tea over any other tea, you know, other than the booze.
In interesting news, Twisted Tea falls under the Boston Beer Company umbrella (Sam Adams) of brands. It was originally called BoDean's Twisted Tea. A lawsuit put an end to that, as a band named BoDeans didn't seem to be pleased with the result.
Twisted Tea FAQs
What is the alcohol content of Twisted Tea?
Twisted Tea is 5% ABV.
What is the alcohol content of Twisted Tea Light?
Twisted Tea Light is 4% ABV. Simple math would suggest that, just like light beer that has a lower ABV, it takes longer to get drunk drinking Twisted Tea Light than it does Twisted Tea Original, as the latter alcoholic beverage has more ethanol in it.
The 5% and 4% are still generously lower than the ABV rating of hard liquor, liquor such as Bourbon, Tequila or Vodka. The problem is that malt liquor beverages such as Twisted Tea get consumed in far greater volumes than their hard liquor counterparts.

Remember, in order to (responsibly) test your theories as to how many Twisted Teas will get you drunk, you must be 21 years of age. And if you want to tread down this path, or, if you're just looking to casually sip an ice cold, Original Twisted Tea, you should probably consider doing so when and where it is warm out, as much like real tea, brewed with green or black tea leaves in tea bags, Twisted Teas aren't exactly trending in the wintertime.
