The Vermont Brewers Festival, Heady Topper, and Burlington Breweries
| Read Time: 2 minutes
Welcome to the first edition of Thirsty Thursday, our weekly update on all things craft beer and beverage. As always, our goal is to help you find your next craft beverage.
Featured Article: Vermont Brewers Festival 7/21-7/23
The Annual Vermont Brewers Festival is one of the premier craft beer festivals in the nation. We'd go so far as to call it an unofficial drinking holiday. Set on the shores of gorgeous Lake Champlain, the multi-day, multi-session event is a must attend beerfest if you're hankering to attend one.
Featured Beer: Heady Topper
What can we say about Heady Topper that hasn't already been said? It's been rated the best beer in the land. It's been the talk of the beer world. It's Heady Topper.
Just remember to drink it from the can.
That said, when we first attended the Vermont Brewers Festival in the mid 00s, we saw The Alchemist and didn't think much of them. 100% our fault. One of our biggest craft beer mistakes. What can we say, capricious youth.
Featured Brewery: Lawson's Finest Liquids
Lawson's was another craft brewer we first heard about at the VT Brewers Festival. They've been producing quality brew since beer got the name "craft" attached to it.
We really enjoy a Triple Sunshine on a crisp, late Autumn Day. And so should you, if it's available in your area.
Beers we recommend:
- Fayston Maple
- Hopzilla
- Sip of Sunshine
Featured City: Burlington, VT
Burlington is one heck of a craft beer city. We took a trip to the august Vermont Brewery & Pub over a decade and a half ago and knew that beer would never be the same again. There are over a dozen great breweries within a short drive of downtown for your drinking pleasure.
If you're looking for a waterfront experience, check out Foam Brewers Waterfront Park taproom. You'll thank us later.

Featured News: Harpoon acquires Long Trail
Staying on the Vermont angle, Harpoon went and acquired Long Trail. Long Trail was brewing long before the craft beer explosion.
Just how many skiers have enjoyed a pint in the Bridgewater Corners locale? We'll never know. But we do know that Harpoon's portfolio of beer brands just grew again.
