The Cost of a Handle of Tito’s Handmade Vodka
Everything is bigger in Texas, except the price of Tito’s compared to the rest of the vodka market vs overall quality.

Tito’s has taken the drinking world by storm over the last decade. We know because Tito’s has moved into a position where it is ordered by name, much the same way that Grey Goose was ordered in the 2000s by the folks with “great taste”. Think Jack and Coke or Tanqueray and Tonic.
Note: What is a handle?
This Craft Vodka that is distilled in Austin, Texas has become the unofficial dance partner of a whole host of mixers, ranging from club soda to seltzer, OJ to cranberry. Not to mention pouring some in favorite beach drinks.
From the distillery, "In 1995, Bert “Tito” Beveridge obtained the first legal permit to distill in Texas and created Tito’s Handmade Vodka. We batch distill our corn-based vodka using old-fashioned pot stills and the vodka is naturally Gluten-Free."
Listen, we’re not confusing Tito’s for High-End French Cognacs and Fine Single Malt Scotches. That’s a fool’s errand.
But what we are saying is that the craft vodka that Mr. Beveridge started distilling the mid 90s has exploded through the wine & spirits industry. It goes toe-to-toe with the largest brands in the world, vodka brands including Absolut, Grey Goose, Ketel One and more.
Plus, don’t get Diddy started ... his Ciroc Premium Vodka costs nearly twice as much as Tito’s. At least it costs less than Cristal!
Anyway, if you’ve spent some time drinking distilled spirits - and we don’t mean in college when it was a collection of Rubinoff Vodka or Poland Spring Vodka - then you’d know that this gluten-free spirit is highly rated in its category.
Here are the words from Mr. Bert “Tito” Beveridge himself, “I basically just kinda kept working at it and working at it. We bought every vodka that was on the shelf, we put them in little mason jars and tasted all of them and came up with the two best ones. When mine consistently beat those two then I figured that I had my formula right.”
- Sidenote - How amazing is it that his last name is Beveridge?
- Sidenote 2 - That reminds us of Beveridge Craft Beer in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire
Back to Tito, he fought tooth and nail to get his craft distillery up and running, often running up debt on credit cards while seeking to distill a, “vodka that was so smooth you could drink it straight.”
But we are here to say that it pairs excellently with your favorite bloody mary mix.
The average price of a handle of Tito’s Handmade Vodka is approximately $30 dollars. A quick review of national retailers shows that number to be fairly accurate.
- Drizly 35.99
- Target 29.99
- Total Wine 27.99
- Walmart.com 29.98
Tito’s Vodka comes in a variety of liquor bottle sizes. The prices for each can be seen below. We’ve chosen to use Total Wine as the main example for showing off the prices of each size in USD.
- 50ml - 1.49
- 200ml - 6.99
- 375ml - 10.99
- 750ml - 17.99
- 1l - 24.99
- 1.75l - 27.99
Interestingly enough, bulk pricing does not always improve your ml per penny ratio. For instance, the 50ml nip is a better price at $1.49 than the 200ml bottle at $6.99. Same goes for the 750ml bottle vs. the 1 liter.
We tell you these things because we care. Plus we assume you’re always looking out for your bottom line. Given that, take the savings and donate to your favorite non-profit!
A quick review of the online product details and SKUs shows these competitors being priced similarly in some cases and stunningly cheaper in others. We know that brand perception is important in the aggressive pricing of alcoholic beverages, so it should come as no surprise that the competition is stiff in the vodka market.
- Total Wine - 26.99
- Total Wine - 28.99
- Drizly - 24.00
- Total Wine - 19.99
- Walmart.com - 17.98

The amount of alcohol in a handle of Tito’s Handmade Vodka is 1.75ml or 0.46 gallons. The amount of shots that you can get from a handle is approximately 40 - which is about 35-36 more than the amount it takes to get you drunk. Because shooting Tito’s is high on everyone’s wish list.
At least now we know what people are drinking when beer stops being sold in Texas.
Just so you know, not all prices are created equal. The same handle of Tito’s for sale in New York might be way more expensive than its counterpart in a local Ohio liquor store. Accessibility, as well as supply and demand, factor into the overall cost.
And don’t think you’ll save money by shipping the alcohol from Mississippi to the Bay Area, as fees will rack up quickly. Same goes for convenience like curbside pickup and online shipping fees, should you even be able to get liquor delivered to your house.
