The Best Breweries, Brewpubs & Taprooms in Atlanta
The state of Georgia has 100+ beer gardens, brewhouses and taprooms. The craft beer scene is good, the tasting rooms are plentiful, and you can drink all of the Southern Crafted pilsners, belgian wits, lagers, and IPAs that you want.

ATL has become quite the craft beer factory in recent years. Warmer weather allows folks to enjoy drinking quality brew outside on patios and in beer gardens far longer than in the North. It's a sneaky good craft beer city, if Asheville (less than a 4 hour drive) and The Research Triangle are feeling a bit too exhausting.
3361 Dogwood Drive, Hapeville GA 30354
Modern brewing mixed with Old-World Tradition. Arches Brewing in Hapeville brews a strong mix of contemporary lagers and ales. If Arches were a Braves hitter, it would have a strong day at the plate with their Dubbel, Tripel, and uhh, err ... Quadrupel. That doesn't sound quite as good as homerun.
- Four Strings
- Five Week Sail
- Low Viz
2323 Defoor Hills Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
Was Atlanta Brewing Company. Then Red Brick Brewing. Now it's back. The Westside craft brewery, Atlanta's oldest, has been operating since 1993. We hope they ship the Hayze to Roadhouses everywhere in America. It's pretty much the best gift to give a beer lover who also loves the 80s.
- Soul of the City
- St. Patrick Hayze IPA
1737 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW suite d-1, Atlanta, GA 30318
This Westside brewery makes a Belgian Quad in a can. Seriously, who does that?! (They do)
The brewpub serves up pizzas, burgers, and entrees, along with salads and bowls. All good there. The taps pour strong beers, so if you are gonna stay for a bit, opt for the Virtue of Temperance, a 4.5% abv table beer.
Bold Monk Brewing also features guest taps and a fine selection of wine.
- Attainment DIPA
- Indominus Quadruple
- White Oak White
1015 Grant St SE, Atlanta, GA 30315
You can host your wedding at this Grant Park brewery. Seems like it would be a fun time given that the Eventide Brewing taproom is a great space.
- Cup of Excellence
- Mild Mischief
- Warped Reality
43 Magnolia St, Roswell, GA 30075
20 beers on tap. Live music. A 30bbl brewhouse. Gate City Brewing was founded by a couple of friends who, a half decade later, are still going strong.
- Awe Juice!!!
- Tarty McFly
2129 NW Pkwy SE #105, Marietta, GA 30067
Axe Throwing. You could tell us $20 pints and we'd still go there every night of the week (if we lived in ATL). Some breweries have darts, others have a pinball machine or two, but not Ironmonger, no, they throw axes.
- Squeeze Play
- Toasty Marshmallow
- Too Legit to Wit
2855 Marconi Drive Ste 350 Alpharetta, GA 30005
Alpharetta's first brewery. 26 taps to choose from. Good eats. And with a second location at the Alpharetta City Center, Jekyll Brewing is moving on up.
- Mama Pajama
- Pineapple Habanero Hop Dang
670 Trabert Ave NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
Love the logo for this West Midtown brewery. And, it fits with their backstory of white collar workers turned pro brewers who became successful enough to open their Midtown brewery, as well as their second location, the Monday Night Garage. MNB is a dog friendly brewery, so if you're craving a cold beverage and you got no one to watch Fido, you know what to do. They are a little too far South to brew Puppers Beer though.
- Fistful of Cake: Double Fudge Chocolate
- Han Brolo
- Slap Fight
550 Somerset Terrace NE #101, Atlanta, GA 30306
This just-south-of-Ponce beltline brewery offers a wonderful roof deck to enjoy tasty beers on. Really, a wonderful roof deck. New Realm has a culinary team. Most brewpubs have a dude with a spatula flippin' cheeseburgers and pressing sandwiches on a Breville. The ATL brewery offers Saturday brew tours and private event rentals.
We also think the brewmaster has a dog named after Ted Mosby.
- Quality Foam
1440 Dutch Valley Pl NE, Atlanta, GA 30324
Located just outside of Midtown, on the northeast side of Piedmont Park, Orpheus Brewing is a dynamic and downright fantastic Atlanta brewery. Beyond having a sweet mythological name, and, sweet beer names, Orpheus Brewing features tipsy trivia nights, Barrel of Laughs, and Shakespeare on Draught.
- Choosers of the slain
- Time and Inevitability
- When All Goes Black My Shadow Seeks Me
1998 Delk Industrial Blvd SE, Marietta, GA 30067
40bbl's of craft beer fun. An interesting note, they were the first brewery in the state of Georgia to can their own beer.
Pet and kid friendly, they offer corn hole, bocce, and other games to keep you active whilst enjoying a tasty pint of suds. The live music helps as well. There's nothing quite link drinking on a patio in Marietta.
- Betty White Stout
- Soft J IPA
- SPF 50/50 Tangerine
225 Reformation Parkway Ste #500, Canton, GA 30114
With a second location in downtown Woodstock and a third location in Smyrna, Canton's Reformation Brewery is building a strong ATL presence. A summer cornhole league sounds fantastic (Woodstock taproom). Reformation brings in food trucks and pairs their delicious craft beer with live music events.
- Mounds of Joy
- Scout the Storyteller
1738 MacArthur Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
A rotating set of food trucks is featured at this outstandingly named brewery. Their beer names back up the theme, with the Double Jeopardy and Hooligan. Brewmaster Travis Herman and founder Matt Shirah have got a great thing going with Scofflaw Brewing. We really want to try the FXXK CORONA VIRUS IPA, a tropical IPA with pineapple.
- Busted Lip
1317 Logan Cir NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
Another West Midtown joint. We know they brew craft beer, but can we please, please, please get a Blue Razzberry seltzer!? Like, right now.
The Second Self Beer taproom has long-bench cafeteria style tables, a pull-down projector screen for the game, and enough space to host private parties.
- Mai Thai
- Maverick & Gose 2.0
- Vikings of the South
1611 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW UNIT F, Atlanta, GA 30318
Sweet taproom for Steady Hand. Yoga and live music adorn the event calendar. Hoppy, drinkable beers adorn the beer menu. The Steady Hand Beer Company is an all around good time, for sure.
- Budding Enterprise
- Circles of the Sun
- Georgia Farmhouse Ale
195 Ottley Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30324
Near the ASW Distillery which abuts the Peachtree Creek, Sweetwater Brewing has been slingin' craft beers for over two decades. Every year they rock the SweetWater 420 Fest, with touring bands and other live music. SweetWater is an Atlanta staple.
- Georgia Brown
- PNP Plums (Woodland Project)
121 New St, Decatur, GA 30030
Founder Brian Purcell traveled across Europe, and like every backpacker before him, came home and opened a brewery. The former part is real, even if the latter is false. A decade after returning from that fateful trip, he started brewing. Almost another decade later, the dream, Three Taverns Craft Brewery, was real. And, so is the Decatur craft beer scene.
- A Night on Ponce
- Midnight Snack
135B Maple St, Avondale Estates, GA 30002
Wild Heaven Beer has an original Avondale location and a second location in the West End. The taproom at the West End also doubles with their taqueria (Fina). In terms of excellent duos, craft beers and tacos are firmly in second place, ahead of the sun and moon, and behind Bill and Ted. Wild Heaven is also the makers of the emergency beer and emergency beer series.
- ATL Easy Ale
- Wise Blood IPA
292 Moreland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307
The Wrecking Bar Brewpub is in the basement of an old Victorian mansion. As if it should be anywhere else. Rotating taps, fun grub, and a modern patio that rests just outdoors of the non-modern stonewalled cellar. And, by fun grub, I don't mean the entrees and sandwiches, I'm talking the Charred Octopus. Lots of brewpubs have Bavarian Pretzels. Not a lot serve Charred Octopus.
- Bean Talk Brown Ale
- Juice Willis: Dry Hop with a Vengeance IPA
- Just the Tip of the Cap English Mild
