Barrel House Z

Just a short drive from Downtown Boston is Barrel House Z, a cozy brewery with a taproom and outdoor space down on Woodrock Rd in Weymouth, down on the South Shore. Like many New England breweries, it occupies some industrial space that isn’t on a main drag. The history of Barrel House Z is such, the first head brewer of Boston’s Harpoon Brewery, Russ Heissner, founded BHZ a few years ago. The brewery would focus on small-batch beers with a more than little lean toward experimentation. One of those experiments involved barrel-aged beer in Bully Boy Whiskey barrels, and old throwback to the Harpoon days. Another was getting their Sunny and 79 into tequila barrels. The macanada is an empanada stuffed with mac and cheese. It’s basically everything one needs when quaffing two to three pints BHZ beer. There are dipping sauces to go with alternate versions of the macanada. Those alternate versions are buffalo chicken, carnitas, and truffle broccoli. You will be thankful for the dense pub grub if you tackle a high abv Townie Strong or a Zelato Tiramisu Stout.

## Brewery Entertainment & Events You can rent the facility privately, you can make group reservations, and, you can just go, have a beverage, and be entertained. Once the COVID-19 pandemic subsides in the United States, we will be heading to Barrel House Z for an in-house pint of beer.
