Our Thoughts

WRBC brews primarily Belgian, British, and German types of beer. White River Brewing Company strives to make every rich, sophisticated sip a special event with uncompromised quality. For each batch, they employ only the best ingredients, hand-selected to give our beers a unique flavor and depth. Their four mainstay brews and seasonal rotating beers are adding steam to Southwest Missouri’s craft beer movement and giving a unique experience in every bottle, all while appealing to the weekend warrior and discriminating connoisseur in all of us. John Hosfield had the concept for White River Brewing Company, and in 2007, he bought the building and began renovations. By the end of 2010, Rod Triplett and Dave Lamb had joined him, and the concept had become a reality. Lamb, a seasoned brewer and beer specialist, adds decades of beer knowledge and terminology to White River Brewing Company and ensures that every one of our standard products and seasonal beers is of the highest quality. A different state, but we wonder which Springfield has better beer, breweries in Springfield, MO, or, breweries in Springfield, MA. ## {{ brewery }} Hours ## {{ brewery }} Beers Each White River Brewing Company beer, available on tap or in various local retail locations, elevates the standard for the craft beer movement and turns every sip into an experience. They take great care to ensure that every sip has complex flavors and a beautiful finish. White River Brewing Company’s beers are noted for their flavor, character, and finish, all of which are hallmarks of European ales. I bet if they applied themselves to NA beer, they’d brew some of the best non-alcoholic beers on the market today. ### Table Rock Red Ale - Style: Irish Red Ale - ABV: 6.0 #### Tasting Notes Our Table Rock Red Ale is traditionally an Irish Red Ale brewed with five malts including German Caramel Rye, as well as German and English hops. Table Rock Red is a mellow ale that treats the palate to a wonderful complexity, both in aroma and flavor. Our draft version is conditioned with nitrogen and served on a special faucet to produce a creamy, cascading head; Table Rock Red promises an incredible drinking experience. ### White Creek Wit - Style: Witbier - ABV: 5.2 #### Tasting Notes A lively Belgian-Style wheat beer brewed with coriander and orange peel. - Hops: Glacier - Malt: 2 Row Pale, Wheat, Flaked Wheat, Flaked Oats - IBU: 10 ### Tavern Creek Tripel - Style: Tripel - ABV: 9.2 #### Tasting Notes Our Tavern Creek Tripel beer is brewed in the classic Style of Belgian Tripels, boasting a distinct German pilsner malt and Belgian Biscuit malt. Appealing to the complex palate, Tavern Creek is bittered with German Perle hops and finished with English Kent Golding. Tavern Creek has a remarkably long and smooth finish, expressing a very full character with spicy fruitiness and a dry-tart finish, making it a great sipping beer. ### Belgian Style Table Rock Red - Style: Red Ale - ABV: 6.0 #### Tasting Notes This mellow red ale starts with complex caramel malt flavors, followed by layers of a dry fruitiness from our authentic Belgian yeast. - Hops: Nugget, Northern Brewer - Malt: Pale, Melanoidin, Crystal, Rye, Dark Crystal - IBU: 30 ### Jam Up Blackberry Ale - Style: Blonde - ABV: 7.0 #### Tasting Notes Traditionally a Belgian Blonde, this Fall Seasonal ale is brewed with Cara Red Malt to give you a full body and a rich malt aroma. Boadicea hops are used which give it a light bodied bitterness that makes it well rounded. The beer itself is not brewed with the blackberry but rather it is infused after the primary fermentation so that none of the blackberry flavors become diminished. Jam Up Blackberry ale is not overwhelmingly sweet yet it does impart a tart, blackberry finish. ### Old Mill Ale - Style: Old Ale - ABV: 7.5 #### Tasting Notes The foundation flavor of this beer is attributable to English Marris Otter malt that is layered with specialty malts adding caramelized rye, chocolate and toffee accents to this dark and hearty ale. UK Challenger and Phoenix hops round out the finish and two yeast strains make it a perfect winter warmer. Old Mill Ale will impart a malty sweetness while being perfectly suited for winter time with a rich malt complexity. ### Pulltite Pilsner - Style: Double Pilsner - ABV: 7.0 #### Tasting Notes The term Lager is associated of ligrs, which is Gothic for “place of lying (down).” After having a pint or two of this summer sipper, lying down under the sun for a summertime siesta wouldn’t be a bad idea. This is a double pilsner that is brewed using most of the ingredients from the Czech Republic. Besides the water, the only thing that isn’t Czech about this beer is the brewers. Pulltite Pilsner is brewed using Saaz hops which give it its very distinctive flavor. Although the aroma is mild, this beer has a superior drinkability. ### Fall Creek Lager - Style: Märzen - ABV: 6.0 #### Tasting Notes Traditionally a Märzen-Style lager, this is also known as an Oktoberfest beer. It starts off with the traditional malt fullness and finished with toasted malt and floral hop flavors. Brewed with a blend of specialty malts including Munich, Biscuit and Abbey, Fall Creek Lager will impart a malty sweet flavor which is perfectly balanced with Boadicea hops to give it a light bodied bitterness. ### Shadow Rock Stout - Style: Foriegn Export - ABV: 8.0 ### Gravel Bar IPA - Style: India Pale Ale - ABV: 6.0 #### Tasting Notes This east meets west coast IPA has a BIG tropical and stone fruit aroma, followed by a citrus and grapefruit tatse through the middle, then finishes dry with a clean bitterness. Truly an Ozarks-Style IPA. - Hops: Nugget, Glacier, Cascade, Centennial, Citra, Azacca - Malt: 2 Row Pale, Belgian Aromatic - IBU: 65 ### Spring Fed - Style: Golden Ale - ABV: 4.5% #### Tasting Notes A light, golden session ale that drinks easy and finishes dry with subtle fruity esters from our house yeast. One of the better best low calorie beers going. - Hops: Nugget, Northern Brewer - Malt: 2 Row Pale, Light Crystal - IBU: 15 ### C Street Pale - Style: Pale Ale - ABV: 5.0% #### Tasting Notes A classic American pale ale. This beer has a slightly sweet malt backbone but finishes dry to accentuate hop character. Probably the closest thing to Puppers Beer that White River Brewing brews. - Hops: Nugget, Centennial, Cascade - Malt: 2 Row Pale, Light Munich, Light and Medium Crystal, Belgian Aromatic - IBU: 35 ### King’s Kriek - Style: Belgian Golden Ale - ABV: 5.5% #### Tasting Notes Our Spring seasonal is a Belgian golden ale fermented on 400lbs of tart cherries. This beer was brewed to be slightly sweet to compliment the dry, tart cherry finish. - Hops: Nugget, Northern Brewer - Malt: 2 Row Pale, Light Crystal - IBU: 25 ### Coconut Rye Porter - Style: Porter - ABV: 5.4 #### Tasting Notes This American Style Porter was brewed with flaked rye, giving it a spicy edge to balance the sweetness imparted by the coconut with notes of chocolate to back it all up. ### Table Rock Black - Style: Irish Stout - ABV: 4.4 ### Tasting Notes Traditional Irish Stout with notes of chocolate from the malt. This easy drinking ale is conditioned and pushed with Nitro, to give it a creamy cascading head. ## {{ brewery }} Events Yoga, live music, and more, including an annual street festival. They also attend local beer festivals. ## {{ brewery }} Merch & Swag If we recall, White River had some of the best koozies for sale around town, ones of all shapes and sizes. You just can go wrong with a koozie, whether it’s an old school foam one or a stainless steel 16oz can koozie to help insulate your tasty craft brews.
