Maybe the best of the Worcester breweries, Greater Good Imperial Brewing is located on Millbrook Street on the North side of the city. The taproom itself is plenty big, but get there early because it fills up. With bags and a Street Fighter II game, it's perfect for you 30/40-something parents who want to escape the rugrats.
Or, bring them, because Greater Good is kid friendly. The first time we went, there were zero kids. The next two? Parents were flocking to the joint to libate the pain of parenting away.
They also have a sub-brand, Soul Purpose, for people who want beers with less kick. Interestingly enough, you can get yourself Soul Purpose brews at Polar Park. The WooSox just became way more interesting with GG on tap.
Speaking of Polar Park, Greater Good will probably be represented at the 2nd Annual Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival being held on the field in October.

GG brews a variety of types, and nearly all of them are boozy. Their Greylock, named after the highest peak in Massachusetts gets real, real fast, coming in hot with a double digit ABV - which is generally considered high ABVs.
Yes, they will pour flights. Yes, there is a cooler full of 4-pack cans to go on the side of the taproom. No mug club here though. Yes, you can buy Greater Good beers such as Citra and SMOOOTH in-store around the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Soul Purpose (sub-brand)
Soul Purpose focuses on drinkability - aka - less ABV. They must have found people were coming to drink and staying for one only, since everything was 8% and higher.

Brewery Food/Menu
They serve sandwiches and small plates, like a caprese panini, or the maui-wowi, and buffalo chicken dip. Pretzels, hot dogs, and a kids menu round off the test kitchen's lineup.

A giant Connect Four game goes with the aforementioned bag toss and video games. And, they have live music on occasion. Greater Good should be a stop on any Worcester brewery tour you want to take.
